Itinerary Breakdown

Day One - Edinburgh to Pitlochry

Your adventure begins as you collect “The Lomond” from your agreed pick-up location and head north towards the iconic Forth Road Bridges. Along the way, take in the picturesque views and consider stopping in Kinross to visit the stunning Loch Leven. Continue your journey to historic Perth and explore its rich history and vibrant culture.

As you arrive in Pitlochry, you’ll have approximately 40% state of charge. Head to Rie-Achan Road Car Park and use their 50kW charger to recharge to 90%. Then, find a quiet location to set up camp or use one of the many local campsites available (if you book a campsite with an electrical hook up, you can use the onboard charger to charge the traction battery around 30% per day).

Take some time to explore the charming town of Pitlochry and the surrounding area. You won’t want to miss the breathtaking views from Queen’s View, a picturesque viewpoint overlooking Loch Tummel that is sure to inspire and delight you. Relax and unwind in the beauty of Scotland’s countryside, and let “The Lomond” take you on the adventure of a lifetime.

Day Two - Pitlochry to Inverness

As you continue your journey north from Pitlochry, you’ll be treated to stunning views of the Grampian Mountains. Take your time and soak up the breathtaking beauty of the Scottish countryside.

As you pass through Aviemore, you’ll have a chance to stop off and refuel at one of the many local eateries and retail outlets. For those seeking even more adventure, a slight detour to the Glenmore Visitor Centre in the heart of the stunning Glenmore Forest Park is a must-see. Arrive in Inverness with around 25% state of charge if no charging was done at Aviemore.

There are many charging options in Inverness but beware of overstay fees. We recommend using the Osprey charger found at the Three Witches Pub. Once charged to 90%, find a place to camp or use one of the many local campsites available.

Take some time to explore the charming city of Inverness and its surrounding areas with your partner. Stroll hand in hand along the River Ness and take in the serene views of the water. Indulge in delicious local cuisine at one of Inverness’s many fine dining establishments. If you’re feeling adventurous, take a guided tour of the historic Inverness Castle or explore the famous Culloden Battlefield. For a truly romantic experience, watch the sunset from the Black Isle and create unforgettable memories with your partner. With “The Lomond” as your trusted companion, the possibilities for romance and adventure are endless.

Day Three - Inverness to Edinburgh

As you journey back from Inverness to Edinburgh, take your time and enjoy the stunning scenery of the Scottish highlands. We recommend starting early to catch the sunrise over Loch Ness and make the most of your last day in “The Lomond”.

Head south toward Kingussie and stop for breakfast while you charge to around 80%. From there, continue on to Perth, where you’ll find a super-fast charger from Ionity. Use your Octopus Electric Highway RFID card, charging to around 80%.

From Perth, it’s a straight shot to Edinburgh. Keep your speed below 55 mph to avoid any more charging stops, and take your time enjoying the journey. If you find that you’ve consumed more electrons than expected, there is a 50kW charger available at The Forth Road Bridge Visitor Centre. This is the perfect opportunity for one last wonder across the middle bridge and a quick selfie to commemorate your adventure.

When you’re ready to return “The Lomond”, simply drop it off where you collected it. If you find yourself running late, don’t panic – just give us a call or text, and we will happily work something out.
