Moreover, our onboard toilets are chemical-free, offering a more sustainable and less odorous alternative to traditional cassette toilets. Making a booking?

The Booking Process

Booking is simple and can be done directly through our website. Select your preferred dates, package, and add any additional requests. Confirmation is immediate, and we’ll arrange everything you need for your adventure.

We offer two hire packages tailored to your travel style:

Eco-Saver Package: Ideal for budget-friendly travels, with a 200-mile daily limit and no included charging.

Unlimited Explorer Package: Perfect for the adventurous spirit, offering unlimited mileage, daily charging credit and EU travel for carefree exploration.

To hire from us, you’ll need to provide:

  • A copy of your photo card driver’s licence (must be up-to-date and match the address you provide).
  • An online licence check for UK licences.
  • Two forms of proof of address from separate sources.
  • A cleared, traceable security deposit using our secure portal with a credit/debit card.
  • A signed rental agreement.
  • If you plan to drive within the EU, you must have written confirmation from us, and we will provide you with a VE103 certificate.

To ensure a safe and enjoyable journey, drivers must be between 25 and 79 years old and have at least 2 years of driving experience. Our insurance accommodates up to two minor 3-point convictions without referral.

We prioritise your peace of mind. All hires have a £1000 security deposit that will be charged in the event of an insurance claim. There’s an increased excess for specified drivers, particularly those aged 76 to 79, and for windscreen damage. Please note, for any damages, our policy requires an excess of £2000.

A £1000 security deposit will be pre-authorised on the main driver’s credit or debit card. This is a precautionary hold to cover any potential incidents, ensuring both you and EVCC are protected.

Absolutely on our Unlimited Explorer Package! Please make sure you have the necessary documents for your destination. Check gov.uk for driving abroad and secure a VE103 certificate from us. Our insurance covers you across the EU, with a generous third-party property damage limit for comprehensive protection.

Should an incident occur, you’re supported with EU-wide breakdown cover, and in the case of a claim, you’re responsible for up to £2000, with EVCamper covering any additional costs. For added security and to assist in the event of an incident, our campers are fitted with front and rear dashcams that must remain active throughout the hire. If the dashcams are disconnected, the hirer may be held liable for the entirety of the claim. Additionally, our campers are equipped with tracking devices to ensure your safety and the security of the vehicle. This system is in place to provide assistance promptly if needed and is only used in accordance with our privacy policy.

EVCC is dedicated to providing a seamless and luxurious glamping experience. Our electric campers are not only eco-friendly but also come with modern amenities and comforts that cater to the needs of the contemporary traveller. With features like automated systems, a Mood Tablet for easy control, and on-board 4G WiFi, we ensure you can focus on creating unforgettable memories that are shareable ready.

Embracing the electric revolution in campervanning is exciting and straightforward. At pick-up, we provide a comprehensive handover that includes guidance on operating the vehicle, using charging stations, and handling cables and RFID cards. The camper is equipped with a Mood Pad featuring the ‘A Better Route Planner’ app to help you plan your journey with suitable charging stops, and ‘ZapMap’ to locate charging points and read user feedback.

We supply two RFID cards — ChargePlace Scotland and Octopus Electric Universe — which you can use to redeem any included charging credit; additional usage will be deducted from your security deposit. Though our campers are designed to prevent running out of charge, our 24/7 support team and inclusive breakdown cover are there for your peace of mind — even in the rare case of depleting the battery.

For optimal performance, we recommend charging the campervan to 100%, as the onboard battery management system is engineered to balance the battery pack efficiently. To maintain the health of the battery, try to avoid letting the charge drop below 20%. The camper will alert you with audible and visual signals when the charge is low, and immediate charging is necessary when the “Fuel light” indicates that only 10% remains.

Yes, you are free to explore the beauty of the UK from the Scottish Highlands to the coastlines of Cornwall. Our campervans are designed for the diverse UK roads. If you wish to venture into Europe, let us know in advance so we can prepare the necessary documentation and make sure you’re fully covered.

Our onboard technology, including the Mood Tablet and 4G WiFi, is there to enhance your travel experience. Stay connected with loved ones, find the best routes, and access essential travel information at your fingertips. Plus, the dashcams offer peace of mind so you can enjoy the journey worry-free.

While our campervans are versatile, we do have guidelines to ensure they are used within the terms of hire. All campervans are fitted with tracking devices to aid in vehicle recovery and ensure compliance with hire conditions. Always check with us if you plan to take the campervan on ferries, into remote areas, or outside the UK.

To facilitate a hassle-free return, simply follow these guidelines:

  • We’re flexible about a bit of dirt from your travels; however, please ensure that both compartments of the toilet are empty and clean to avoid a fee of £200 per compartment.
  • A full inventory check will be conducted both pre-hire and upon return to ensure all is in order.
  • For your convenience, we’ll arrange a return time and location within 30 miles of Edinburgh that suits you. Should there be any delays in your return, just let us know as soon as possible so we can accommodate the changes.
  • We ask that the camper has at least 30% state of charge for our collection to ensure we can reach a charging station if required.

We’re not just providing a campervan; we’re here to support your entire EVCamper experience.

Our campervan, The Lomond, is equipped with state-of-the-art safety features to ensure your journey is not only enjoyable but also secure. It includes rear parking sensors and Visio Park 180° for a comprehensive view while reversing, a Lane Departure Warning System to keep you on track, and Speed Limit Recognition to assist with driving within legal limits. Driver Attention Assist and Smartbeam Headlights adjust to road conditions, enhancing nighttime visibility without dazzling other drivers.

For added security, The Lomond is fitted with an Electric Parking Brake and an Advanced Emergency Braking System that includes Collision Alert and Forward Collision Warning. Electronic Stability Control and ABS with Hill Start Assist provide stability in challenging driving conditions. The vehicle also features Cruise Control with a programmable speed limiter for comfortable long drives, airbags for driver and passengers, and ISOfix mounting points for child seats.

Additional safety features include electrically adjustable heated door mirrors, Blind Spot Mirrors, automatic lights, windscreen wipers, a Tyre Pressure Monitor, and an 11kW Tri-phase On Board Charger. For pedestrian safety in urban or low-speed environments, an Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System generates a sound that is audible outside the vehicle. These features, along with others like the Electric Handbrake and a Full-size Steel Spare Wheel, are part of our commitment to your safety on every adventure. In the unlikely event of a breakdown or emergency, your safety is our foremost concern. Please ensure you’re in a safe location before contacting our breakdown provider, whose number and policy details can be found in the cabin library. Once safe, inform them of your situation, and they will provide you with the necessary assistance. Simultaneously, let us know about the incident so we can support you alongside our partners.

In case of an emergency or breakdown, follow these best practices:

  • Move the camper to a safe place away from traffic, if possible.
  • Turn on your hazard lights to alert other drivers.
  • Use the safety triangle and hi-vis vest found in the wardrobe. Place the warning triangle at an appropriate distance to warn oncoming vehicles.
  • Avoid attempting repairs on busy roads or if it puts you at risk.
  • Stay with the camper if it’s safe to do so until help arrives.
  • If you must leave the camper, keep a safe distance from traffic and the camper.
  • Always prioritise the safety of yourself and your passengers over the camper’s security or recovery.

Absolutely. We understand that driving an electric vehicle may be a new experience for some. That’s why we provide a thorough handover at the start of your hire to walk you through everything you need to know. Our campervans are user-friendly, and the in-vehicle technology is designed to make your transition to electric driving smooth and enjoyable.

Before you set off, and after you return, our campervans undergo a detailed inspection to ensure everything is functioning correctly. This includes checking the tire pressure, battery health, and all safety systems. Our preventive maintenance schedule ensures that each camper is reliable and roadworthy for your peace of mind.

What are your policies?

EVCC Policy

We love pets and welcome your furry friends on board! We just ask that pets stay off the furniture and that you bring along a pet bed for their comfort. Please ensure you return the camper free of pet hair and odors to avoid additional cleaning fees.

For the safety of your little ones, our campervans are equipped with 2 ISOfix rear mounting points for child seats. While we recommend bringing your own child seat to fit your specific safety standards and comfort, we do have a limited range available upon request.

A week before your scheduled pickup date, we will send an email to review and sign the hire agreement digitally and to process the payment of the security deposit. This email will be sent to each driver included in the hire. The main driver/hirer will have the security deposit of £1000 pre-authorised on their card, and additional drivers will have a nominal £1 pre-authorisation, all of which must be in the name of the respective driver as per their provided documents. These amounts are held as security and will be fully released post-hire, assuming there are no claims or damages. Please note, in the event of any claim, the security deposit from the main driver will be utilized, regardless of which driver was at fault. It is our aim to make this process as straightforward as possible to ensure a smooth start to your EVCamper experience.

We expect the campervan to be returned in a respectable state. A bit of dirt from your adventures is understandable, but please empty and clean both toilet compartments to avoid a £200 fee per compartment. General waste should be disposed of properly, and the camper should be tidy.

We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, leading you to cancel your booking. Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • If you cancel 30 days or more before the pickup date, you will forfeit 25% of the total hire rate, with any other payments returned to you.
  • If you cancel between 29 and 15 days before the pickup date, 50% of the total hire rate will be forfeited, with any other payments returned.
  • For cancellations made less than 15 days before the pickup date, 100% of the total hire rate will be forfeited.

 

These conditions are part of our hire agreement, which aims to be fair while ensuring we can manage our fleet effectively for all customers. For more detailed information, please refer to our hire agreement.

Our campervans are built for adventure, and you’re welcome to explore the UK and even venture into Europe with prior agreement. However, please note that all our campervans are fitted with tracking devices, and for safety and insurance reasons, we may restrict travel to certain areas or under specific conditions.

We understand that unexpected delays can occur. If you anticipate a late return, please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our schedules accordingly. Depending on the situation, additional charges may apply as per our hire agreement.

Required Documents

Document Criteria
The Following Documents Are Required From Each Driver:
  • A clear copy of the front and back of a valid UK/EU driving license* – Photocard and counterpart (if applicable). Must have held a driving licence for at least two (2) years.
  • UK Mainland driving licence holders will need a DVLA online Licence Check code provided at most 21 days before hire.
  • Non-UK driving licence holders will need additional photographic identification (passport, identity card, etc.)
*Other licences may be allowed but please contact us before booking to confirm.
Acceptable ID
Two forms of identification showing your current home address dated within 90 days of your hire pickup date and matching the address on your driving licence.
Acceptable forms of identification:
  • Council Tax bill/statement
  • TV/internet/landline telephone bill (including Sky/Virgin/BT etc.)
  • Bank statement
  • Credit Card statement
  • Mortgage statement
  All uploaded original documents must be presented at pickup as required by our insurance provider.

Hire Requirements

Driver Criteria
The Following Criteria For All Drivers To Hire From Us:
    1. Held a full UK/EU Driving License for more than two full years*
    2. Aged between 25 and 75 years old at the date of pick up
    3. Have six (6) or fewer penalty points
    4. £1,000 pre-authorisation held on a credit/debit card in the name of the main driver
    5. Provide two (2) forms of ID showing the driver’s home address dated no more than 90 days before pickup

•Other licences may be allowed but please contact us before booking to confirm.

We’re unable to offer hire of our vehicles to anyone who has had their insurance declined and/or renewal refused and/or special insurance terms imposed as a result of claims experience and/or have had their insurance or cover cancelled by any Motor Insurer.

Further, we’re unable to offer the hire to any potential driver who has been involved in more than one accident while driving during the past three years, any persons engaged wholly or partly in professional entertainment, professional sports persons, jockeys and persons connected with racing, the gaming industry or the press of any sort.

We, therefore, reserve the right to refuse your pick up of any EV Camper Company Ltd vehicle if you fail to meet any of the conditions set out in our Hire Agreement, Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy. In any circumstances where we believe you to be unfit to drive the vehicle or fail to meet our requirements, the hire will be terminated with immediate effect, and you will lose the total cost of hire. We will not be held liable for any additional charges you may incur as a result of the termination if the termination results from your actions or omissions of the agreements set out.
